Strengthening E-commerce Cooperation to Promote Business to Business and Business to Consumers under AHKFTA: A Case Study of ASEAN Countries and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China
Following the establishment of the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA), the Chapter on Economic and Technical Co-operation (ECOTECH) work program has been implemented. It is created as a reference document for implementing economic and technical cooperation activities under the agreement's scope. Despite this milestone achievement, there is no comprehensive scientific research conducted to determine the potential business cooperation in developing a mutual e-commerce platform that enhances competitiveness in terms of the transportation system, effective transaction, and consumer protection in the AHKFTA region. Therefore, this research, as proposed by Institute for Industry and Commerce (IIC), Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC), Lao PDR, aims to provide regional generalizability and develop a reliable reference for policymakers to create a mutual e-commerce platform that ensures a competitive transportation system, effective transaction, and consumer protection.
Project Objective
- To provide regional generalizability and develop a reliable reference for policymakers to create a mutual e-commerce platform that ensures a competitive transportation system, effective transaction, and consumer protection.
- To serve as a platform for sharing the experiences and expertise of all participating countries on the issue.
