On the Salience of Memories and Socio-Economic and Political Preference


Project Description

A collaboration with a team of researchers from the University of Ludwig-Maximilians (LMU), Munich to conduct an experimental survey to investigate the impact of persistent memories of violence and the impact of salient memories. The survey is to be conducted in 50 communes in provinces around the Tonle Sap, interviewing 1,500 randomly selected households.


Project Objective

The objectives of this survey are:

  • To measure preferences and believes in Cambodian society, and their relation to memories.
  • To understand where Cambodian people obtain their news from, how often they interact with families and friends, as well as female empowerment in the context of Cambodian families.
