Project Description
The project supports resilient water governance and biodiversity conservation in the Cambodian Mekong Delta, with a focus on Boeng Sneh Lake. It will establish a hydrological baseline through bathymetric surveys, water-level monitoring, evapotranspiration assessment, and irrigation demand analysis; co-design and test a scenario-based Decision Support System with the DTWG, FWUCs, and CFis; strengthen stakeholder capacity; support participatory water planning; validate a Boeng Sneh Management Plan; and share knowledge for scaling and policy uptake.
Project Objective

Overall objective:

To strengthen resilient water governance and biodiversity conservation in the Cambodian Mekong Delta by improving data-driven, participatory water management in Boeng Sneh Lake.

Specific objectives:

  • Establish a hydrological baseline for Boeng Sneh Lake through bathymetric surveys, water-level monitoring, and water balance analysis.
  • Co-design and develop a scenario-based Decision Support System for water allocation and planning.
  • Build the capacity of DTWG, FWUCs, and communities to interpret hydrological data and use the DSS.
  • Facilitate participatory water planning and define water allocation rules and ecological thresholds.
