Economic Return to Investment in Education and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) on Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship Development


Project Description

As part of the UN Joint Programme, UNDP seeks to examine the relationship between the economic/ monetary returns at individual, household and national level of investments in education and technical vocational education and training (TVET).  Therefore, this study will be done in concerted efforts with the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport (MoEYS), Ministry of Labour and Technical Vocational Training (MoLVT), and Ministry of Industry and Handicraft (MoIH). However, other relevant agencies will be engaged throughout the study.


Project Objective

The overall objectives of the assignment are:

  • To estimate the rate of return at the individual, household and national levels, of investment in education and training, and empowering programs for urban and rural youth Cambodia.
  • To identify areas for programmes and policy interventions aiming to improve, upgrade and expand relevant skills training and empowerment programmes/schemes for young men and women in urban and rural Cambodia.
